ABOUT DELTA SIGMA PI

The Alpha Upsilon Chapter

The Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi was established in 1927. Recognized as one of Miami University’s “Most Outstanding Student Organizations,” Deltasig focuses our work around 4 pillars. These include professional development, service, fundraising, and brotherhood. We host our weekly chapter meetings on Tuesdays at 7pm, where we discuss chapter activities and opportunities related to our pillars. Every year, we are also privileged to act as stewards of the Michael G. Hayes Foundation and the Kelly Booms memorial scholarship. Currently, we have over 115 brothers, and we are actively recruiting new members every semester. Nationally, the Alpha Upsilon chapter has an alumni base of over 3,100 brothers, and DSP has 300,000+ alumni worldwide. Outside of our official activities, brothers compete in case competitions, work at prestigious companies, and create businesses and charities of their own.

Why Delta Sigma Pi?

When you join Delta Sigma Pi, you join more than just another business fraternity or organization on campus. At Deltasig, you join a group of individuals who become family. We'll go above and beyond, pushing you to explore your passions, excel in the classroom, land your dream career, and have fun every step of the way. Our brotherhood is what sets our organization apart and it's what drives our strong, 300,000+ brother alumni network and brother network on campus, as well as our strong informal mentorship. From the moment you join DSP, over 100 people on campus have your back.

Professional Development

At Delta Sigma Pi, our brothers have the professional resources, development experiences, and connections that allow them to take their early career aspirations to the next level and ultimately make them a reality. Whether by resume and LinkedIn workshops, networking how-to’s, interview prep, informal mentorship, or faculty-initiate, alumni, and company counsel, our brothers build the skills during their time in DSP that will set them up for a successful career.

Committees

As soon as you join Delta Sigma Pi, you are opened up to a new world of education and leadership-focused opportunities. Our committees are comprised of small groups of Deltasigs that are brought together by their interest in professional development, marketing, service, and more! Committees offer great opportunities for leadership and learning, no matter what your major is.

Current Committees Include: Recruitment, Pledge Education, Professional Development, Ethics and Culture, Service, and so many more! If interested in learning about a specific committee, please visit our Executive Team Page.

Brotherhood

When you join Delta Sigma Pi, you join a family, a community, a brotherhood. You join a group of individuals who strive to push one another to new heights and support each other along the journey. This organization will introduce you to your lifelong best friends, and these close connections among brothers are what makes our chapter stand out from the rest.

Mentorship

Once you begin pledging this fraternity, an upperclassman in a similar field of study will begin working with you as a professional and personal resource as you navigate your coursework, build your resume and LinkedIn, prepare for interviews, and network with professionals in your desired career. This mentorship program is one that many brothers would speak to as one of the most enriching parts of their experience in Deltasig.

Service

A feeling of community is one of our chapter’s core values, and is why we try to make an impact on our community as much as possible. Joining DeltaSig allows you to contribute firsthand to the work we do around the country and even globe. Some of our service events include the annual Michael Hayes Race and weekly volunteering at the Oxford Community Pantry.
